I finally moved out of my sublet last weekend and into a regular place in Cambridge. I feel like the neighborhood suits me much better than Allston/Brighton, which is fondly called the “BU slums” by Bostonians. Anyway, after I finished moving in two hours (a future post on that), I got a chance to take a stroll around my new neighborhood before it got dark.
I love my living situation right now. It’s an old Victorian house that each of the three floors has been converted into an apartment. While that means that my bedroom is technically the servants’ quarters, for modern day needs it suits me perfectly. I really love old places with history, don’t you? Oh, and my two new roommates aren’t too bad either. We’ve only met a few times before, but one of them has already baked an apple pie for the house, and everyone knows that the way to my heart is through new shoes or baked goods.
