I really can’t think of a situation where these shorts would be considered work appropriate, but if you’re going to attempt them for a very casual work environment, this would be your outfit. As for me, I’ll just file this somewhere under “uber-trendy”.
First we have the shorts suit that every designer has been pushing for the past two years, but still has yet to really hit mainstream. I personally like the look, but find that I’m lacking a situation where I could wear it. A shorts suit feels to business to wear out for socializing, yet it’s too casual for the office.
Screw it. For a pink shorts suit I will make a situation in which it is appropriate to wear this outfit.
I’ve also been known to wear a new pair of five inch heels to go pick up noodles at the grocery store, just because I really wanted to wear them right out of the box. So maybe I’m not the best person to ask about being practical.
Anyway, so we have the shorts suit which is on trend. We have the monochromatic look (I personally prefer a range of shades instead of just one color) which is very trendy. The contrasting peter pan collar, which is, like, so hot right now (please read that in a Mugatu voice). Plus kohl eyeliner, bow pumps and spade earrings, because life is short and accessories and makeup are fun.
Would some people consider this a fashion disaster and trend over-kill? Probably. Do I give a damn? No, absolutely not.
