I know, I know… it’s still summer so why am I showing you sweaters? To be honest, autumn is my favorite season to dress for, so here’s how I’m going to wear these jeans right through October.
The trick to pulling off this much volume is to semi-tuck* the sweater into the front of the jeans and add a leather belt to define your waist. A pair of rose-gold ballet flats and a pink oxford keep this look from feeling too masculine. Obviously this outfit doesn’t fall under the “traditionally flattering” category, but I like a slouchier, devil-may-care look when I’m not at work.
On another note, I have been eyeing that pink shirt from Tradlands but I am a little wary about buying it. They don’t have a physical store in New York and I usually like to try things on in person to check the quality and fit before I buy anything online. Has anyone bought from Tradlands before and would you recommend them?
* A semi-tuck is when you tuck the front part of a shirt or sweater into your pants, letting it blouse over the waistband a little bit, and leave the back part untucked. I like it because it looks a lot less fussy than having everything tucked in, but still makes you look pulled together in my opinion.Tweet
